Dr. Cynthia Hou is a general dentist whose career is marked by a strong commitment to education, clinical excellence, and innovation. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and an MBA from Rutgers University with a certificate in Strategic Leadership.
Dedicated to advancing dental education, Dr. Hou served as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. In this role, she held several Course Director positions, mentored masters, predoctoral and postdoctoral students and served on the Mental Health and Wellness Committee.
In addition to her academic career, Dr. Hou has maintained an active clinical practice at the Penn Dental Faculty Practice and a private practice in Bucks County. She also played a key role in the product development of the 3M True Definition Scanner, consulted for Colgate-Palmolive and is currently navigating complicated payor systems with the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Her professional affiliations include the Pennsylvania Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Dental Education Association, American Association of Healthcare Administration Management, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Hou enjoys a range of personal pursuits, including being a certified pastry chef, avid skier, tennis player, and scuba diver.
